Expand all

1. What if my group is larger than 12?

We can normally accommodate any size of group. Please email your dates, preferred time, pick-up location, and number of travellers to hello@greatguidesliverpool.com, and we’ll create the right arrangement for you.

2. Is this tour really the most comprehensive Beatles walk in Liverpool?

In a word yes! This three-hour experience connects the full early story of The Beatles in the heart of Liverpool. From The Cavern Club to the waterfront statue, from famous landmarks to rarely included pivotal locations, it’s designed to give you the complete picture — not just a highlights reel.

3. Do we go to Abbey Road, Penny Lane and Strawberry Field?

Abbey Road is in London and we only have three hours! Penny Lane and Strawberry Field are in the suburbs you can get to see them with our Big Beatles Taxi Tour. Spending one half of the day on the Beatles Maniacs Walk in the city centre and then the other half going out out to Penny Lane, Strawberry Fields, and seeing the Beatles childhood homes with the Beatles Taxi tour will squeeze everything possible out of just six hours. There will be seamless handover between your walking tour guide and your driver.

4. Will we actually go inside The Cavern Club?

You can descend into The Cavern Club, where The Beatles performed more than 250 times. It’s one of the most atmospheric moments of the tour and a must for any fan. The cost of £5 (at the time or writing) is not included in the tour - this is because your group size may vary and not all participants wish to go inside The Cavern! The flow of your tour and starting point may vary the timings of your tour

5. Do we visit John Lennon’s favourite pub?

We do. You’ll step inside John Lennon’s favourite pub, once voted TripAdvisor’s “most ornate pub in the world.” It’s one of Liverpool’s most striking interiors and an unforgettable stop on the walk. Many tours end here, but we’ll work that out with you on the day. We can always take you back somewhere else central.

6. Is this tour suitable for serious Beatles fans?

Absolutely. This tour is created for travellers who want depth, context, and authenticity. You’ll trace the band’s early performances, their journey to Hamburg, and see key hangouts including the Wall of Fame and John Lennon statue. All delivered with knowledgeable, thoughtful storytelling.

7. Is the tour fast-paced or relaxed?

It’s tailored to you. The rhythm adapts in real time to your group’s pace and interests. Want more time for photos at the Beatles Statue? Prefer to linger inside the pub? Love asking questions? Perfect. This is a private, curated experience shaped around you. If we have to vary the route or timings we will let you know.

8. Will there be plenty of photo opportunities?

Definitely. From selfies at the waterfront Beatles Statue to iconic Mathew Street moments, there are plenty of stops built in — and your guide is always happy to play photographer so everyone gets in the shot.

9. Why should I choose a private walking tour?

Because it’s your tour, your pace, your story. With a private experience, there’s no rushing to keep up with strangers and no waiting around for large groups. We walk at your pace — whether that’s steady and curious or relaxed with plenty of photo stops.  If you’re visiting Liverpool to truly understand the legacy of The Beatles, this private walking tour gives you space, freedom, and a much richer experience.

10. Who was the Fifth Beatle?

We get asked this a lot. You have to decide who was the fifth Beatle. However, Pete Best, Stuart Sutcliffe, George Martin and Brian Epstein are all likely to be mentioned during your tour!

11. Where can you pick me up from?

During checkout enter your hotel, cruise port, train arrival or other central point. If you are staying outside the centre of Liverpool, please book your tour and our concierge will be in touch to arrange the most seamless and convenient experience for you.
